Discovering Animals
Browse the marketplace, apply filters, and use distance search to find suitable breeding partners.
Browsing the Marketplace
The Discover page presents a scrollable grid of animal cards from across the platform. Each card displays the animal's name, breed, species, sex, age, and distance from your set location.
You can filter listings by species (Dog, Horse, Cattle), breed, sex, and maximum distance. Filters are applied instantly and the grid updates without a page reload.
Using GPS-Based Distance Search
To enable distance-based search, your location must be set. On the Discover page, open the filter panel and click "Use GPS" to automatically detect your current coordinates. Alternatively, you can enter a location manually in your profile settings.
Once your location is set, you can specify a search radius in kilometres. Results will be sorted by proximity and each card will display the approximate distance to the listing's registered location.
Filtering by Visibility Tier
Each animal listing is assigned a visibility tier by its owner. The tier determines which users can view the listing:
- Public: visible to all signed-in users, including Free tier accounts.
- Verified: visible to users with a Verified Breeder badge (Premium subscription and above).
- Premium: visible only to users on the Premium plan or higher.
- Elite: visible only to Luxury subscribers.
Listings you do not have access to will not appear in your search results.
Animal Cards: Understanding the Information
Each animal card displays the following information at a glance:
- Name: the registered or common name of the animal.
- Breed: the breed or breed combination.
- Species chip: a colour-coded label indicating Dog, Horse, or Cattle.
- Sex: Male or Female.
- Age: calculated from the animal's recorded date of birth.
- GPS distance: the approximate distance from your search location to the listing's coordinates, if both are set.
Tapping or clicking a card opens the full animal profile, where you can view the complete description, pedigree, and service details.
Acting on Listings
From an animal's full profile page, you can send a match request to express interest in a breeding partnership. Match requests are subject to monthly quota limits depending on your subscription tier.
You can also bookmark listings for later reference using the save function on the animal card.
